This is a stock image, but we, too, have a lot of laughs in our meetings.
Who We Are
The many people and teams devoted to making this association run smoothly. We’re all in this together!
The New York State Association for Music Therapy (NYSAMT) is governed by an Executive Board. The Executive Board appoints Regional Representatives to be the voice of each area of New York State. Committees - groups of people working together with one person as the “lead” - help to fulfill tasks set forth by the Executive Board. Meetings are held anywhere from once a month to once a quarter depending on the needs of the association.
Behind the association
Executive Board
President; Past-President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Chair; and 1-2 Student Representatives. This group makes the big decisions of the association - what we need to do to support NYS music therapists and music therapy students. Click to see the open positions.
Committees
Committees fulfill responsibilities and tasks determined by the Executive Board. Committees are as follows: Non-Profit and Bylaws Committee; Website and Social Media Committee; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee; Membership Committee; Event Committee. Regional Representatives
Regional representatives are the backbone of the association when it comes to localized support. They are the eyes and ears of each area of the state. They bring music therapists from the area together and relay concerns back to the Executive Board. Click to see the various regions.
We believe that music therapists are stronger together.
