Donations to 501(c)(6) organizations (business leagues, chambers of commerce) are not deductible as charitable contributions on federal income tax returns. However, they may be deductible by businesses as ordinary and necessary business expenses.

Your donation goes to supporting the overall operations of the association which, in turn, supports the music therapists of New York State.
Donations go toward the following:
Website hosting, development, and special features
Fees for CMTE (Continuing Music Therapy Education) speakers
Space rental for hosting conferences and workshops
Marketing and advertising, including coverage for representation at national and regional music therapy conferences
Legal and accounting fees
General non-profit costs, such. as the application and submission of 501c65 tax status
